Learn to Speak Italian 2: Intermediate Level

5 weekly sessions of 75 minutes each

This course is created for students who have already completed the beginners’ course and already learnt the use of the nouns, articles and regular verbs at present and past tense, and able to communicate and understand on a basic level in daily life situations like introducing themselves and ordering in a restaurant.  This course provides a deeper exposure and practice of the language, as the instructor gradually switches to speak mostly in Italian and works on original sources like texts, news, interviews and videos to build conversations and help the students expand their vocabulary and grow their confidence with Italian. The grammar will focus on other tenses of verbs, the use of the prepositions and how to communicate in daily life situations like booking a hotel and giving directions.

Plan for the Course Learn to Speak Italian 2:  Intermediate Level

5 Sessions (75 minutes each)

Session 1: Personal introduction, resume of regular verbs at the present tense, nouns and adjectives, how to go clothing shopping and listening activities (songs, videos), exercises.

Session 2:  Use of the irregular verbs to like, to do at the present tense, conversation about hobbies and things to do in the free time, Italian culture, reading, listening activities (songs, videos), exercises.

Session 3:    Passato prossimo (Past tense) of regular verbs, how to order in a gelateria, Italian recipes, Italian culture, reading, speaking listening activities (songs, videos), exercises.

Session 4: Simple prepositions, giving directions, past tense of verb to like, Italian culture, speaking and listening activities (songs, videos), exercises.

Session 5: Combined prepositions, booking a table, hotel/apartment, going groceries Italian culture, reading, speaking and listening activities (songs, videos), exercises.
